The Wild Animal Trauma Centre & Haven is a Non-Profit Organization based in Vryheid, Northern KZN, dedicated to the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release of indigenous wildlife that has been injured, displaced or orphaned.

Originally a species specific centre, focusing on Vervet monkeys ( Chlorocebus Pygerythrus), W.A.T.C.H has since begun to expand in order to accommodate the growing number of indigenous wildlife in need within the surrounding areas.

Established in 2002 by founders Bruce and Sandi Cronk, W.A.T.C.H has successfully returned over 300 animals back to the wild.

In 2021 W.A.T.C.H was taken over by Diane and Johan Van Jaarsveld but Sandi is still involved and she remains a Pillar of strength to the Center and all the Monkeys.

W.A.T.C.H was made possible by a Vervet Monkey who will be remembered as the main founder...Nelson!!!

Nelson was born in Nov/Dec 1997 and was raised by Sandi who then started W.A.T.C.H along with Bruce with the sole intention of helping other monkeys like himself. Nelson was released in 2001. This site is dedicated to our Monkey hero...Nelson, who has made a difference in so many other Vervets Lives. He is a Special and amazing Boy!!!!

IN MEMORY OF NELSON
